Ashton K. Arnoldy, PhD ✶ Like many millennials, I became familiar with divination at an early age, Sun signs astrology, for instance, around the age of eight. I immediately felt at home drawing connections between the archetypal images of the zodiac and the unique personalities of my friends. At sixteen, in 2009, I discovered natal astrology. As I slowly began to synthesize the disparate interpretations of my chart placements, a profound feeling swept over me—a feeling that I was being observed inwardly by some higher wisdom without, as if the cosmos itself were witnessing me. From that moment, I began to study the charts of others and to follow planetary transits, both personal and collective.
Years later I encountered the work of Richard Tarnas and moved to San Francisco to pursue a PhD in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness (PCC) program that he co-founded. My approach blends the archetypal and depth-psychological insights modeled by Tarnas with the technical foundations of Hellenistic astrology. My interpretive approach is also shaped by my scholarly interest in the evolution of consciousness, factoring in the possibility that astrological insight may guide us in wisely participating in its unfolding. If you'd like to explore this dimension of my work, check out my open-access dissertation here, or, if you prefer audiovisual media to text, my dissertation defense here.
Drawing on nearly two decades of personal practice, academic study, and a synthesis of archetypal, Hellenistic, horary, and historical perspectives, I aim to help clients navigate the fluctuations of fortune and attune to the Good beyond being. Whether you are navigating relationships, career changes, or questions of meaning, I would be honored to explore what the stars have to say to you. Schedule a session, and let's begin.
